Terms and Conditions of Wild View Retreat – Individual Guest 

Prices

The price of retreats and what is included in the price is available on our website at www.wildviewretreat.com.

Prices are listed per retreat week and booking options and prices are available for:

  • A double/twin ensuite indoor room with air conditioning (sharing or double/twin occupancy)
  • A triple ensuite indoor room with air conditioning (sharing, double/twin or triple occupancy)
  • An outdoor yurt with electric fan and or heater (sharing or double/twin occupancy) with outdoor toilet and hot shower
  • An outdoor shepherd’s hut (sharing or double/twin occupancy) with outdoor toilet and hot shower.

All prices are in Euros and all transactions must be made via the website using online card payments. If you prefer to do a bank transfer or need more information, please contact us on our email address.

Types of Retreats and Duration

Wild View Retreat offers two types of week-long retreats that focus on nutrition, yoga, fitness and wellness: retreats that offer only vegetable and fruit juices as well as soups known as ‘juice fasting’ or ‘juicing and nutrition’ retreat weeks and retreats that offer only plant based meals known as ‘plant based food retreats’ or yoga and vegetarian food’ retreats.

Guests can chose to book any type of retreat available on our website. Wild View Retreat welcomes any human being regardless of race, gender, faith, religion, lifestyle choices and dietary preferences, as long as they have an open mind and are kind and considerate to other people and the planet. Please note the retreats are not suitable for children, all guests must be 18 years or over and younger than 75 years of age. Wild View Retreat reserve the right to cancel any booking at any time if we discover the age of the guest is not within 18-75 years of age and the guest will not receive a refund. 

What is included and not included on each type of retreat is available on the website and also listed below. On each retreat, guests are to arrive from 5pm-1030pm on arrival day in time to start the programme early the next day. Guests should not arrive late on subsequent days only with approval from Wild View Retreat. Guests must leave the retreat on departure day by 1030am unless they are staying to participate in a second week.

Juice Fast Retreats

Guests will be given three nutritious juices per day and a warming soup in the evening. The juice programme has been designed to encourage detoxification whilst providing sufficient nutrients and calorie intake to participate in a busy daily programme of guided walks, yoga and fitness classes. On Friday the day before departure, guests will have the option to break the fast with samples of food made in a workshop environment with the nutritional therapist. All guests should be fit and well to participate in the week and have declared themselves fit and well and signed the health form waiver. Guests should not book this retreat if they have any eating disorder issues associated with being underweight and require additional sustenance / calories other than that provided in the juices and soup during the week. Wild View Retreat reserve the right to cancel any booking at any time if we discover the guests is unfit to participate in the retreat and the guest will not receive a refund. 

All Other Wild View Retreats

Guests will receive three light meals a day to encourage detoxification and cleansing. The meal plan will be designed by a nutritional therapist to provide the right balance of macro and micronutrients to support the guests ,at the same time avoid the overindulgence of calorific foods. Alongside the main programme of activity, talks and cooking demonstration to inspire and educate on food and lifestyle choices will be given by a nutritional therapist. Our aim is to ensure guests eat well-balanced highly nutritious meals so that they go home feeling light and full of energy not in a food coma needing another holiday. All guests should be fit and well to participate in the week and have declared themselves fit and well and signed the health form waiver (see below).

What is included?

  • A bed in a twin or double room or triple room or outdoor yurt  or shepherd’s hut (as booked)
  • 3 juices / smoothies and 1 evening soup on juice fast weeks only
  • Three light meals a day on non-juice fast weeks only
  • Drinking water
  • Towel for sunbathing
  • Towel for showering
  • Shower gel and shampoo
  • Air conditioning in rooms except electric fan in yurt and huts
  • Yoga classes, 2 classes a day for 5-6 days
  • Guided walks*
  • Nutrition talks and sometimes cooking demonstrations
  • Fitness classes, 1-2 a day for 5-6 days 
  • Use of infinity pool and sun loungers.

*Guided walks are on gravel paths and roads and all guests must have their own insurance for such activity in case of an accident as Wild View Retreat takes no responsibility for any accident, loss or damage to property during guided walks. 

What is not included?

  • Flights or transport to Faro
  • Transfers to and from Faro Airport are at an additional cost
  • Therapies and consultations are at an additional cost

Room Sharing

If you have chosen to room share you will be an open minded, compassionate and considerate person and respect the space and character of the person you share with. We like to encourage new friendships at the retreat and sharing a room paves the way for great human connections on retreat and the special community feel and vibe. We regret we are unable to change you to another room if you are not satisfied in your room so if this is something you are concerned about you are free to chose the single supplement booking option on our website.

Transfers to Wild View Retreat from Faro Airport

Return transfers from Faro Airport to Wild View Retreat can be booked for 70 Euros per person on Saturdays between the following times:

  • On the arrival Saturday transfers from 430pm until 1030pm.
  • On the departure Saturday from 6am to 1030am.

Please book you flights to coincide with these times to avoid waiting at the airport. We will endeavour to keep your waiting time at the airport to minimum as the journey time to the retreat is only 45 minutes but some waiting time may be inevitable and we apologies for if you need to wait more than 45 minutes.

Please note return transfers are provided by an independent transfer company that will be responsible for taking you to and from the airport. We plan to have a member of staff at the airport to assist with the arrivals and departures but cannot be responsible for any problems that arise as a result of the transfer company, airports or flight carriers.

If you chose to arrive independently at Wild View Retreat you are free to do so after 5pm on arrival day but the retreat is in a very remote area and is difficult to find and we cannot be responsible for you not being able to find it based on our directions. Please contact us for directions.

Reservations and Deposit:

Reservations can be made via the website online booking system in Euros. Payments are to be made using online card payments.

Guests can chose to make a booking with a non-refundable deposit of 40% or the full balance payment.

If a guest makes a booking with a non-refundable deposit the balance payments must be paid 4 weeks before the start of the retreat week.

For bookings made within 4 weeks of the start of the retreat week, the price of the retreat week need to be paid in full.

Once a guest makes a booking, they will receive confirmation of the booking via email confirming the place on the retreat, a copy of the invoice, our terms and conditions (this document which you should read carefully) as well as a Health Form Waiver.

6 weeks prior to the start of the retreat week you will receive an email request to pay the balance of the retreat within 4 weeks of the start of the retreat week as well complete and return the Health Form Waiver.

The Health Form must be filled and returned via email to hello@wildviewretreat.com upon payment of the balance no late than 3 weeks before the start of the retreat week.

Complete payment of reserved place will only be considered confirmed after the confirmation of the payment and submission of the Health Form Waiver. Guests will not allowed to start the retreat unless the balance payment is made and Health Waiver Form submitted.

Changing a Booking:

A booking can be changed to any retreat week only if:

  • the change is requested no earlier than 4 weeks of the start of the retreat week that is to be changed
  • there is space on the desired new retreat week
  • the guest pays the difference of any additional fee for the new retreat week if the cost is more expensive
  • the guest pays a 5% admin fee for the time to complete the changes
  • the guest will not be entitled to any refund if the price of the new retreat is less or there is not a retreat week available that that fits the guests personal schedule.

Cancelation:

C19 Policy

In the event that the now unlikely event that the retreat is unable to go ahead and is cancelled and; or

You are unable to travel due to Government enforced C-19 travel restriction reason (lock downs, major C19 country travel restrictions etc.).

We have a flexible booking policy and offer the option to rebook on to another retreat within 12 months.

As of April 2022 we do not require guests or staff to test for C19 prior to arrival. However we politely ask guests to take a Lateral Flow self test on retreat and self isolate in one of our designated Shepherds Huts away from the other guests if signs and symptoms develop and or a test returns positive. 

If you are unable to participate on the retreat during a C19 positive test or any other illness Wild View Retreat accepts no responsibility for you being unable to attend as you must have your own insurance in this event. 

For all other cancellations

A guest can cancel a booking within 24 hours of making the booking and is entitled to a full refund minus a 5% administration fee.

If a guest cancels a booking after 24 hours of making the booking they will lose the non-refundable deposit of 40%.

However if a guest cancels the booking after 24 hours of making the booking, the guest can reuse the non-refundable deposit of 40% to book a subsequent retreat week up to 12 months later, but only however if the cancellation is made over 90 days before the retreat date. If they do not reuse the non-refundable deposit within 12 months of the original booking they will lose the deposit of 40%. 

If a guest books a retreat by paying the full balance but cancels the booking up to 90 days before the start of the retreat week, and the guest does not want to reschedule to another week within 12 months subject to availability,  the guest will receive a 50% refund minus the non-refundable deposit.

If a guest cancels within 89 and 30 days of the start of the retreat they will receive a 30% refund minus the non-refundable deposit.

No refund provided within 29 days of start of retreat week.

If, for whatever reason, you must leave at any time during your retreat week, you will not be entitled to a refund and will be required to pay for a private transfer if leaving via Faro airport or Faro train station.

If due to unforeseen circumstances the retreat cannot go ahead we will inform you as soon as possible. A guests must have their own valid travel insurance in case the retreat is canceled and unable to go ahead. 

Price Changes

Prices are set on the website for each retreat and room option and available in Euros. Prices may vary from year to year however, once a booking is made, the price will be kept unchanged.

Automatic Online bookings via credit card or debit card.

Use of Digital Electronic Devices and WIFI and Mobile Internet

Wild View Retreat is a place of amazing peace and tranquillity, the perfect place for restoring body mind and soul. All guests are politely asked to not to use their digital electronic devices around other guests (kindles, laptops, ipads, phones and anything that beeps and disturbs other people) or in communal areas. 

Team members from Wild View Retreat may take photos and video of the activities with guests in for the purpose of posting on social media. If guests do not want to be in any of the social media guests can opt out of this on the Health Form that all guests are required to fill in before arrival. 

Health Form and Disclosures

Guests are required to complete and return the Health Form Waiver with the balance payment confirming they are fit and healthy to participate in the activities listed on the retreat week booked. You must disclose any medical condition you may have including pregnancy and also provide confirmation of your doctor’s permission to take part in the retreat for any listed health condition. 

No guests are allowed to book and attend a juice fast retreat if they have an underweight eating disorder or a BMI below 18. Wild View Retreat reserves the right to cancel any booking of a guest that falls into this category and no refund given. 

All guests must assume that there is an element of risk in taking part in any retreat week that involves exercise and or fasting and that you must take full responsibility for this risk and seek your doctors permission to participate if you have any predetermined heath conditioning.

All guests must inform Wild View Retreat of any physical or mental issues they may have that have an impact in the participation of a retreat. For example physical limitations, addictions, weight issues or mental health concerns. Our staff team do not have the necessary medical experience or qualifications to cater for guests on retreat with serious health issues and as such Wild View Retreat reserve the right to prevent a guests from participating on the retreat at any time if this information has been deemed to be inaccurate or withheld and no refund provided.

The minimum age for participating on a retreat is 18 and the maximum age is 75.

Guests must disclose all relevant health information and provide any intolerances or dietary requests on the health form and return it once a booking is made, no later than 4 weeks before the retreat date. If any guest fails to do so we reserve the right to cancel the place and issue a refund. This is so we have all the necessary information in advance to assess if the retreat is appropriate. Wild View Retreat will not be able to cater for any dietary requirements if guests do not disclose all information on the health form in advance. Wild View Retreat reserves the right to review the health form and cancel and refund the booking if it is found the retreat is not appropriate. Please note on food weeks we serve plant based meals that are gluten free, dairy free and refined sugar free. We do not cater for complex dietary requests ie FODMAPs, fructose intolerance, grain intolerance or any guest who requires separate meals to be made. Please contact us if you need more information. 

Disability Access

We have one room with disabled access but please note due to the wild natural setting of the retreat there are some areas of the retreat that are harder to access with a wheelchair. We will do our best to accommodate any guest with disabilities, please contact us for more information about access for those with disabilities on hello@wildviewretreat.com

Guest’s Obligations

  1. Wild View Retreat guests must respect all other guests and staff. We do not tolerate negative abusive people and anyone who actively affects the atmosphere of the group will be asked to leave with no refund given.
  2. Wild View Retreat Guests will take care of the property and leave it clean and tidy and be liable for the payment of any damage caused to the property or its contents.
  3. Wild View Retreat Guests will permit the owners and retreat staff access to the rooms to allow cleaning and any maintenance.
  4. Wild View Retreat Guests will not depart with possession of anything from the property.
  5. Wild View Retreat Guests will not sell or transfer the booking to another party without permission.
  6. Wild View Retreat Guests will respect the environment and act in an environmentally responsible manner, adhering to the Wild View Retreat Environmental Policy.
  7. Wild View Retreat Guests will act safely and sensibly at all times adhering to the Wild View Retreat Health and Safety Policy.
  8. Wild View Retreat Guests will not use any naked flames anywhere in the property or property grounds and adhere to the strict Fire Safety Policy and Evacuation Strategy.
  9. Wild View Retreat Guests will not to smoke in any of the property or property grounds (if you must smoke there will be a designated safe place outside of the property grounds and all tobacco material must be fully extinguished before leaving in the safety bin).
  10. Wild View Retreat Guests will not drink alcohol on the property or grounds (unless a private rental has prior agreement with the owners).
  11. Wild View Retreat Guests will not to use electronic devices including mobile phones in communal areas on WIFI detox days.
  12. Wild View Retreat Guests will make remain quiet, refraining from loud talking or disturbance to other guests or staff after 9pm.
  13. Drugs strictly prohibited and anyone caught using drugs will be asked to leave immediately.
  14. Wild View Retreat Guests will fill out a check in form with passport details for use by the Portuguese Immigration Authorities when asked by Retreat staff.
  15. Wild View Retreat Guests will notify Wild View Retreat immediately if they are aware they have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for C19 within 3 weeks of the retreat date and or has themselves developed symptoms or tested positive for C19
  16. Wild View Retreat Guests will not travel to Wild View Retreat if they have come into contact with anyone who someone who has tested positive for C19 within 3 weeks of the retreat date and or has themselves developed symptoms or tested positive for C19 and in this case Wild View Retreat will credit the Guest for another retreat within 12 months of the original retreat date.

Grumbles and Complaints

Our staff at Wild View Retreat are there to be responsible for your safety, your comfort and enjoyment of the retreat. We pride ourselves on recruiting excellent staff to ensure you are satisfied with your retreat week. Of course there may be something that you are not happy about and if this is the case we ask you to speak with the Manager as soon as possible so we can correct and resolve the grievance. It is really important to us that we get the opportunity to fix the issue rather than you go home disappointed. Please bear in mind that any claims may be rejected if we are not given the opportunity to put matters right during your stay.

Extras

Massage treatments are available to be booked once at the retreat. However prebookings are highly recommended at least 4 weeks before to avoid disappointment as they are available on a first come first serve basis. on a first come first serve basis. Massages will be an extra cost in Euros payable in cash at the retreat or bank transfer. Please bring Euros with you as we regret we are not able to take card payments at the retreat.

Occasionally we may offer a day excursion and this will be an optional extra cost payable in Euros (cash) or bank transfer at the end of the week.

Waiving Liability

If one of our staff get sick we will do our best to find an alternative member of the team as soon as possible. It may result in a change to the programme and classes while we find a replacement but we cannot be responsible for any illness that incur and apologise for the inconvenience.

Personal Travel Insurance

All guests participating in a retreat week must obtain travel insurance as we are unable to accept responsibility for:

  • Not being able to participate on retreat due to flights cancellations or loss of luggage.
  • Loss or damage to personal property whilst on a retreat week.
  • Not being able to participate on retreat due to ill health (including c19) or injury before the retreat or while on the retreat.
  • Any C-19 related enforced lockdowns and closures of the retreat. 

Your property is not insured whilst on retreat, nor will we assume any responsibility for any lost or stolen items, but we do have safes in each room that you can use to store small valuables.

Data Privacy

We will treat all personal data and information from our Guests, including keeping copies of their identification documents, in accordance with the legal directives in the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and Council, of 27th April 2016. Furthermore all personal data and information from our Guests is used strictly in line with the RGPD which came into force on the 25th May 2018, which is the Regulation (EU) 2016/679. Further we confirm that we will only be using your personal data and information within the scope of the contract we are signing, and we shall not share your data with anyone else. Furthermore, we shall not use your personal data to keep you informed about promotions, activities, etc. of Wild View Retreat in case you don’t want to.
